Programme Note

A rare opportunity to see a performance of one of Mozart's sublime works for chorus and orchestra, the stunning Great Mass in C minor. This occasion, which sees Alistair Digges at the helm for his first orchestral concert with The Edinburgh Singers, boasts some exceptional solo talent, including BBCSSO principal trumpet Mark O'Keeffe.

The choir are joined by Catriona Clark and Megan Read (Soprano), Jamie MacDougall (Tenor), and James Arthur (Bass) for the headlining Mass, which is supplemented by Mozart's ever-popular gem, Ave Verum Corpus. The evening also features music by Haydn, with his dramatic Te Deum in C, and a real treat as Mark O'Keeffe (1992 winner of RTE Musician of the Future) plays the Trumpet Concerto in Eb.

Haydn:  Te Deum in C

Haydn:  Trumpet Concerto in Eb
