Programme Note

For the grand finale of the Red Violin festival Leeds, their artistic director and violinist Madeleine Micthell performs one of the best loved violin concertos in the repertoire. The concert opens with David Greed, (leader of the Orchestra of Opera North for 44 years until last year and Director of Sinfonia of Leeds), and his son Tom Greed in Vivaldi's Double Violin Concerto from L'Estro Harmonico Op. 3, a set of 12 string concertos published in 1711.
