The evening begins by exploring the themes, structure and hidden stories behind the symphony, with conductor Alexander Conway guiding the audience through key moments, musical demonstrations and context. After the introduction, LIO’s 40-piece orchestra performs the full symphony, alongside Beethoven’s Egmont Overture. The concert is designed for both regular classical listeners and complete newcomers, with an informal atmosphere, a well-stocked bar and no expectation of prior musical knowledge. There will also be an audience-conductor raffle on the night, raising money for Mind UK, with one audience member invited to take centre stage and conduct the orchestra. Charity: All profits go to Mind UK Previous audience feedback: “The LIO gave the evening the energy of a comedy-set mixed with a live gig and a dash of a history lesson thrown in.” “It’s hard to do anything original with Beethoven… but you’ve managed it!”John Suchet, Classic FM St Gabriel's Church, London DD/MM/YYYYDetails
