Programme Note
A programme too beautiful to miss. Lean in for an evening of intimate and expressive music making as melodies whisper above ghostly, mysterious landscapes and flow across a sea of rippling sounds. There are the eerie tremolos of Beethoven’s haunting ‘Ghost’ Trio and the extended meditation by Latvian composer Peteris Vasks that climaxes in an ecstatic vision of dawn breaking. The concert ends with Mendelssohn’s impassioned Piano Trio. The thrilling Latvian Trio Palladio features Grammy-winning violinist (and exconcertmaster of Kremerata Baltica) Eva Bindere, principal cellist of the London Philharmonic Orchestra Kristine Blaumane and the acclaimed pianist Reinis Zarins.
