Live Music Now
Programme Note
For this special evening, internationally-renowned classical guitarist Craig Ogden will be joined by Live Music Now musicians past and present. One of the most exciting artists of his generation, Craig regularly appears as soloist and chamber musician at major venues and collaborates with many of the UK's top artists and ensembles, this season including concerto performances with the BBC Concert Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra and many others.
The concert is raising support for Live Music Now. The charity was founded in 1977 by violinist Yehudi Menuhin to realise his twin ambitions of nurturing young musicians at the outset of their careers, and bringing the joy of live music to all. Each year, LMN musicians deliver thousands of music workshops for audiences including people in hospital, those living with dementia, and children with special educational needs, in Bristol and throughout the UK. Craig Ogden was a LMN musician from 1992-1999, and recalls that "my years spent performing on Live Music Now provided a rich and invaluable start to my career".
