Programme Note

St George's Chamber Orchestra, Beckenham's professional orchestra made up of some of London's finest musicians, opens its15th season at St George’s with a reflective programme starting with Mozart’s least often played but brilliant Divertimento in Bb and finishing with the sumptuous Tchaikovsky Serenade. We give the premiere of a new piece by film composer and Beckenham resident Adam Grigg. We also give the first performances of 2 new Elgar arrangements by our conductor Simon Baggs, and international concert pianist and also Beckenham resident Martin Cousin plays Finzi’s increasingly popular Eclogue.
