Programme Note
Following his recent CD release of all the Mozart Horn Concertos, Martin Owen joins St George's Chamber Orchestra to play the famous 4th concerto. Gramaphone Magazine reviewed his playing as follows: 'Martin Owen's playing on this new album has all the agility and panache one could ask. He surmounts every technical challenge with ease. Yet what impresses even more is Owen's sweet, rounded cantabile, and the imaginative variety of his phrasing and colouring.'
The concert will an interesting examination of Mozart's early and late works, alongside some rarely heard music by Salieri.
