Programme Note
Steve Hollamby studied trumpet, piano and composition at The Royal College Of Music, London.
Whilst there he took an interest in playing the keyed bugle and subsequently toured the country with The London Ophicleide Ensemble along with two singers performing long lost Victorian ballads. As one of the few exponents of the keyed bugle Steve has worked with The Wallace Collection and The London Gabrieli Brass recording a series of 19th century music on period instruments.
As a writer Steve has produced a wealth of Brass Band arrangements and produced arrangements for Classic FM's Masterclass Programme. He has also arranged much of the music and plays for Jubilate Brass, an eight piece Brass Ensemble based at Canterbury Cathedral which has enhanced services and ceremonies there for the past 25 years.
Alongside being musical director of Sussex Brass Band Steve teaches brass at several independent schools.
