On the same day in 1946, founder, Bach scholar and conductor Paul Steinitz (1909-1988) met a group of friends in the Vestry of St. Peter's Church Dulwich Common to set up the LBS; its mission to perform Bach 'in its original form'. The programme presents the LBS performing in the modern era, creating opportunity for today's musicians and promoting new projects that tell the Bach story.
