Programme Note
A vibrant programme featuring Mendelssohn’s sun-drenched Italian Symphony, together with Judith Weir’s characteristically precise and transparent Planet, inspired by an 18th century planetarium. Alongside these works you’ll hear the evocative London Landscapes by Malcolm Singer. At the programme’s heart is Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.3; dark, dramatic and with a slow movement of almost unbearable beauty. Paul Salard, youngest ever winner of the prestigious Young Pianist Foundation European Competition, is soloist.
Experience “superb playing… the highest level of excellence” (The Telegraph) in an unforgettable evening of music.
