Programme Note
Treat yourself and your loved ones to a special pre-Christmas evening in the stunning surroundings of St Giles’ Cathedral, right in the heart of Edinburgh’s historic Royal Mile. With its dramatic Gothic architecture and atmospheric candlelight, the cathedral offers a truly memorable setting for a night of beautiful music.
Acclaimed British concert pianist Warren Mailley-Smith will perform a selection of popular and powerful piano works, including Beethoven’s much-loved Moonlight Sonata with additional exceptional works by Chopin, Debussy  and other great composers . Whether you're a classical music enthusiast or simply looking for a unique way to celebrate the festive season, this concert promises a warm and uplifting experience in one of Scotland’s most iconic venues.
In 2016, Warren Mailley-Smith became the first British pianist to perform all of Chopin’s solo piano works from memory in an 11-concert series at St John’s Smith Square—an achievement praised by critics as extraordinary. He has performed at prestigious venues including Wigmore Hall and Carnegie Hall, and has given numerous performances for the British Royal Family. One of the UK’s most in-demand pianists, he gave over 200 concerts last year alone.
Join us for an evening of inspiring music in a truly unforgettable setting.
