Programme Note
To close our 2022 season, Music-at-Hill Concert Society offers you a chamber orchestra programme of varied repertoire, ranging geographically from England to the near Continent, and from the Iberian peninsula to Latin America. We will be paying tribute to César Franck in the actual week that marks the 200th anniversary of his birth, and highlights of the programme will include Elgar's exquisite Serenade for Strings as well as Rapsodia sinfónica, a little known gem for piano and strings by the Spanish composer Turina.
Payment will only be taken on the day of the concert (cash or cheque only - no cards or contactless), with admission by programme at the door.
This will be a chance for you to hear some quality music without overdosing on the usual Christmas repertoire - though we reserve the right to throw in a couple of seasonal tunes as encores! You can of course always combine our fixture with some West End shopping or dining, or a museum/gallery visit earlier in the day.
The concert will have a short 'comfort break' interval and, following the performance, all audience members are invited to stay on and enjoy a wine reception, doubling up as the Music-at-Hill Christmas party...
