Programme Note

As well as classics by Bach and Beethoven, you’ll hear ‘Lalai (a lullaby to awaken you)' by Barbara Heller, in memory of women murdered under the Shah regime; ‘Lacrimosa’ by Liz Dilnot Johnson, a setting from ‘When a Child is a Witness - Requiem for Refugees’; The Gloomy Forest, arr. Duncan Strachan, a tune about Scots cleared from their land and now facing a harsh Canadian landscape. 

All proceeds from the event will support ILA’s human rights advocacy, campaigns to stop executions, and community support programmes for displaced and marginalised people.
