The Gesualdo Six

Programme Note

Ahead of their BBC Proms Debut, The Gesualdo Six perform their programme "Weelkes & Ligeti: A Madrigal Wonderland" which takes the audience on a journey through five centuries of madrigals, from Thomas Weelkes (celebrating his 400th anniversary this year) and Orlando Gibbons to Judith Weir and Sarah Rimkus.

“Spellbinding... The fine-grained texture of solo voices allows us to savour the amazing harmonic pungency... which at times seems almost modernist.” - The Daily Telegraph
