Programme Note
An exuberant and rhythmic programme opening with Chabrier's dance-like España, followed by the Violin Concerto by the great film composer Korngold. The Syrian Violinist Bilal Alnemr is traveling from France to play with us for the second time.
The second half continues the dance (and film) theme with Bernstein's Symphonic Dances from West Side Story and the concert will end with Mexican composer Marquez's gloriously lush Danzon No. 2.
