The 28-strong Shirley band, conducted by Musical Director, David Bishop Rowe, will accompany tuba soloist, Morgan, 15, who attends Light Hall School, Shirley Band member Edd, 15, who goes to Langley Secondary School , and Louisa, flugel-horn, 15, who goes to Tudor Grange Academy. All three are principal players in the Solihull Music Service-run Solihull Youth Brass Band.
Brian Johnson, Shirley Band' s secretary, said: "Treat your family to a Christmas concert you wont forget, at our annual festive packed concert. Building on the success of last year's Christmas cracker, we are delighted to be holding another one at St James Church in Shirley, a venue we always love performing at.
"We are also pleased this year to be able to extend an invite to young soloists from Solihull Youth Brass Band, an experience which we hope will help nurture and develop them as musicians, something we in Shirley Band think is so important."
The concert at St James Church, Stratford Road & Church Road, B90 2AX, will start at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced £7.50 for adults, £6 for concessions(students or OAPs) and free to children under 12.
