Programme Note

The West End’s newest chamber music series, Piccadilly Chamber Concerts returns in 2019 , focusing on ‘The Great Romantics’. Each programme features a great 19th century Romantic masterpiece.

Now in its 2nd season, the 2019 series concludes on July 19th with a performance of Beethoven’s mighty brilliant and youthful Piano Trio in G major alongside Dvorak’s heroic Dumky trio. To round off the concert and the entire series, a specially-commissioned work for piano trio by Melanie Spanswick will receive its world-premiere, before the interval.

International violinist-extraordinaire, Harriet Mackenzie is in demand as soloist and chamber musician for her breathtaking technique and has made several acclaimed recordings with leading UK orchestras. Outstanding virtuoso cellist and winner of many prizes, Tim Lowe is one of the leading cellists of his generation. Concert pianist Warren Mailley-Smith became the first british pianist to perform Chopin’s complete works from memory in 2016 and enjoys a wide following in London and across the UK. Audiences will be treated to an uplifting, entertaining and informative musical evening.
