Programme Note
The West End’s newest chamber music series, launches in 2018 with a season of five concerts that presents complete Piano Trios of Ludwig van Beethoven.
The 2nd concert of the series features two further masterpieces by Beethoven contrasted against works which highlight the far-reaching extent of Beethoven’s influence in the genre across the centuries. From the light-hearted charm and sparkle of the Hummel, to the youthful Russian romanticism of a young Rachmaninov this evening’s concert also showcases a brilliant 21st century work by the young American composer Nico Muhly in a piano trio of great colour and imagination.
The prize-wining virtuoso violinist Ilyoung Chae, a former member of the LPO enjoys a hugely successful international career and joins forces for this dynamic programme, with rising star and outstanding british cellist, Tim Lowe and concert pianist, Warren Mailley-Smith, a regular favourite with Classic FM.
