The beautiful Requiem in C by the lesser known Michael Haydn greatly influenced Mozart. After the interval the choir will sing Joseph Haydn's Nelson Mass, or Missa in Angustiis (Mass for troubled times). This was written in 1798 after Napolean had shelled Vienna.
