Programme Note

The first concert by the Sitwell Singers with their newly-appointed conductor, the prize-winning Dexter Drown.

An afternoon hour or so of choral items by Ralph Vaughan Williams, celebrating the 150th anniversary of his birth together with the rarely performed final work of his almost exact French contemporary Florent Schmitt. In addition, Tom Corfield plays Schmitt's Marche Nuptiale for organ, and the 20th century programme is completed by items from Britten and Howells.
