Entirely devoted to the music of Kenneth Leighton, the new album includes a number of significant premiere recordings, most notably of the magnificent, unpublished cantata Laudes Animantium, for which we are joined by the distinguished soloists Rebecca Lea and Nick Pritchard. Our programme also includes music by composers whom Leighton admired or who played a significant role in his career - amongst them Vaughan Williams, Finzi, Howells and Bernard Rose - and by his student James MacMillan.
