Programme Note

Performing music ranging from beautiful baroque to exciting jazz/flamenco fusion. It's a concert for not only classical music lovers but lovers of any type of music and especially anyone intrigued as to what classical saxophone sounds like!

Award-winning saxophonist Rob Burton studies at the Royal Academy of Music with Huw Wiggin and has performed as a soloist across the UK following his success in BBC Young Musician 2018, in which he performed with the CBSO as a Grand Finalist. He has recently given recitals at the Cheltenham Music Festival, Southwark Cathedral, Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle. Upcoming concerto performances include Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Milton Keynes City Orchestra.

Pianist, Konya Kanneh-Mason is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music with Tessa Nicholson, where she is the holder of the Gilling Family scholarship. She has performed music around the UK and Caribbean, including at the Baftas, Britains Got Talent and The One Show.
