The internationally-acclaimed violinist Rimma Sushanskaya was the last pupil of David Oistrakh, under whose tutelage she won many prestigious awards. The Washington Post, described her as “one of the greatest violinists alive today,” and commented on her “extraordinary intensity and brilliant virtuosity.” Rimma Sushanskaya has embarked on a successful career in conducting, is the Principal Associate Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra, and partners brilliant British violinist Mathilde Milwidsky in two of the most enduring concerti by Bach, in a programme of celebrated works of the baroque.
