Programme Note

"Elements" launches Ipswich Choral Society's 2025-26 season with new Music Director Christopher Borrett. Featuring music by acclaimed composers Rani Arbo, Ola Gjeilo, Morten Lauridsen, James MacMillan, Eric Whitacre, and others, the audience are invited on a stunning choral journey through the natural elements.

The concert focuses on the choral genre known as ‘soundscapes’, evoking a sonic representation of the vast landscapes found on our planet. Incorporating the four Greek elements of Earth, Water, Air and Fire, the programme weaves together an eclectic mix of choral works to celebrate the power of nature and the beauty of the human voice.

Join us for a breathtaking concert where the elements come alive through choral music. Let the power of music transport you into nature’s most breathtaking soundscapes.
