Programme Note

Commotio are pleased to welcome back our Director Matthew Berry for this fabulous concert of contemporary choral music, celebrating composers not only their own works but also for their legacies as teachers and proponents of the next generation of musicians. In his 150th anniversary year, we feature music by Vaughn Williams, and his pupils and contemporiers, in addition to those who have influenced the choir directly, including Ruth Byrchmore, Peter Klatzow and Cecilia McDowall.

A helix moves from shadow, to a central illumination.
