Programme Note
Sublime string music from Norway, America, England and Italy. The repertoire for string ensembles is so enticing that sometimes the strings from the Erato Orchestra just have to allow themselves to go solo. A chance for our audience to bathe in the luminescence of Grieg’s Holberg Suite, sink into the charm of Florence Price’s Andante Moderato, delight in the humour of Ian Butterworth’s Pop the Weasel and take a tour of Vivaldi’s famous representation of the year’s weather.
