The “Clock” Symphony was enthusiastically reviewed at its première. ‘HAYDN; the inexhaustible, the wonderful, the sublime HAYDN! The first two movements were encored; and the character that pervaded the whole composition was heartfelt joy.’
Two compositions by Mozart complete the Erato Orchestra’s March programme: the most requested concerto in the bassoon repertoire and the “Haffner” Symphony one of Mozart’s most famous. An evening to look forward to!
