This has resulted in new pieces for string quartet and an exciting body of work for solo violin. Over the past year, Robert assembled a collection of miniatures. These reflect the shared fascinations and interests of composer and violinist, ranging from travelogue-like vignettes, to 'Little Fantazia on Ave Maris Stella'. This is inspired by the extraordinary architecture of St Mary Aldemary. Telemann's 1735 'Fantasies' offer a fascinating counterpoint to Saxton's cycle. Peter has critically acclaimed history with the set, having recorded it twice, and sharing his passion for the works worldwide.
