Programme Note

Orlando Chamber Choir, organist William Fairbairn and director Lucy Goddard present a grassroots perspective of the Christmas story from the humble shepherds’ point of view. Intimate works by Claudio Monteverdi and Raphaella Aleotti, exciting polyphony by Francisco Guerrero and a Jean Mouton motet set the scene in a programme built around Cristobál de Morales’ "Missa Quaeramus cum pastoribus". Contemporary works by Becky McGlade and Sally Beamish complete the picture. There will be audience carols too, with wine and mince pies in the interval. Our raffle proceedings will support the New Horizon Youth Centre.
