The quartet are recognised for their unanimous and compelling ensemble, consistently communicating with a fresh and imaginative approach. This year they celebrate 20 years of performing together, still with the four original members. Ravel's exquisite string quartet was his first great masterpiece, displaying the composer's skill in combining traditional forms and classical elegance with his own harmonic language and texture. Schubert's 13th quartet is notable for its dark-tinged reserve, delicacy of atmosphere, and irrepressible lyricism.
