A unique opportunity to hear new some of the brightest new stars of the piano world.Malaysian pianist Bridget Yee is the winner of the Windsor International Piano Competition and the Beecham International Piano Competition, where she also earned the esteemed Best Overall Competitor Prize. In 2020, she won the Putra International Piano Competition with her performance of Ravel’s Concerto in G Major and was a finalist in the BBC Young Musician Keyboard Category, which was broadcast on BBC.The 2024/25 season marks Bridget’s American solo debut at the Aspen Music Festival and School as a Polonsky Foundation Fellow, where she performed in the Klein Music Tent for the Piano-Palooza concert, featuring the world premiere of Greg Anderson's Stars & Stripes: Fireworks for 8 Pianos, 32 Hands. She also performed in the Kurtág Project at the 2024 Summer Piano Festival in Duke's Hall, the first complete performance of all ten volumes of Kurtág's Játékok. Her UK recital tour culminated in a sold-out recital at the HGS Autumn Series. Upcoming highlights include the world premiere and recording of Alexander Papp's duo concerto in Cologne for Coviello Contemporary, part of her three-year residency as an Art Mentor Lucerne performer with the Riot Ensemble.In the 2023/24 season, Bridget made her solo debuts at Wigmore Hall (UK), Viborg Musikforening (Denmark), and Bentley Recital Hall (Malaysia). These appearances were followed by a UK recital tour, with Christopher Axworthy noting that 'her command of the keyboard was at times breathtaking in its audacity.' Her contributions to the arts were recognised when she was named 'Successful Sarawakian from Overseas' at the 2023 Sarawak International Festival of Music and Arts by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry & Performing Arts.Currently pursuing her undergraduate studies with Christopher Elton at the Royal Academy of Music on the Suresh and Richard McMillan Full Scholarship, Bridget has received mentorship from Stephen Hough, Imogen Cooper, Barry Douglas, and Vovka Ashkenazy. At 17, she was awarded the Fellowship Diploma - the highest performance qualification awarded by Trinity College London. Bridget is an artist of The Keyboard Trust and Talent Unlimited Foundation, and has been recognised with awards from the Hattori Foundation and Young Sounds UK. As part of the exciting new Strand Rising Stars Series, in association with The Keyboard Trust, enjoy an exceptional recital at the beautiful candlelit venue of St Mary le Strand. A unique opportunity to hear new some of the brightest new stars of the piano world.
