Programme Note
Join us for a concert of stunning vocal music from the Baroque Era given by some of the rising stars of the UK's early music scene. The Charpentier Ensemble perform music by François Couperin (marking the 350th anniversary of his birth) and the great English composer Henry Purcell. Established by Alexander Norman in 2015, the Charpentier Ensemble specialises in music of the Baroque Era and consists of a number of young professional singers who also perform with acclaimed early music groups such as the Monteverdi Choir, Ex Cathedra, the Taverner Consort and Armonico Consort.
