Enjoy a magical evening with Shakespeare's witty words combined with Britten's mesmerising and subtly atmospheric music. Oberon, the fairy king and Tytania, his queen are locked in a conflict which spills over into the human world. Over one surprising evening find yourself sliding between the worlds of Faerie, star crossed lovers and the village thespians, and transported by Britten's mystical, passionate, hilarious and joyful music. World famous Surrey Opera present a new fully staged production of the opera, with a cast of established and emerging professional singers, full orchestra and the well regarded Surrey Opera Chorus. The production is conducted and directed by Surrey Opera's Artistic Director Jonathan Butcher and designed by Jill Wilson. We visit Dorking, Croydon and the world famous Minack Theatre on the cliffs at Porthcurno.
