Trio Vivace

Programme Note

Join the Vivace Trio on a musical journey through Europe. Our concert opens with the famous and well loved Violin Sonata by the Belgian composer César Franck, followed by François Borne’s Carmen Fantasy, a set of virtuoso variations on a theme from Bizet’s famous opera.

The second part of the concert will transport our listeners to the descriptive Norwegian landscapes of Grieg’s ‘Peer Gynt’. Our penultimate piece is the ‘Salut d'Amour’ for flute and piano, one of Elgar’s most lyrical works. We will close our concert with the passionate ‘Danse Espagnole’ for violin and piano, written by Manuel De Falla (arr. Kreisler).
