Programme Note

A tea-time concert of Spanish and English songs that form a backdrop to the tumultuous Anglo-Spanish relationship during the 16/17th centuries. Soprano Carmel Edwards performs with Din Ghani (on lute, vihuela and baroque guitar) in a wide range of styles, from early villancicos to lute ayres to arias from zarzuelas and semi-operas.
