Programme Note

Songs to the lute that explore the opportunities and threats that the dark of night brings.
Alysha Paterson and Jane Hunt will be accompanied on lute by Din Ghani in a wide-ranging melee of English, French and Italian songs from the 16/17th centuries. English composers include Dowland, Campion, Johnson, Purcell, and even Handel; the Continent is represented by Lambert, Le Camus, and Carissimi.
Refreshment available before and after the concert.
