Musicke in the Ayre

Programme Note

For the 3rd recital of our 2024 residency at St Mary's Bathwick, we visit Versailles in the period of Louis XIV. Our team of 3 sopranos (Jane Hunt, Maria Danishvar, and Philippa Neaverson) explore some wonderful music by Charpentier, Lully, and Lambert who made best use of their combination of voices in both sacred and secular forms. They'll be accompanied by Din Ghani playing continuo on archlute and baroque guitar.

Refreshments available before and after the hour-long performance.
