Programme Note

Helix Ensemble is returning to Clifton Village, Nottingham on Saturday 25th November at 7.30pm with a lovely programme of popular works.  We have David Greed, leader of the Opera North orchestra as our Musical Director for the concert and violin soloist in Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante for violin and viola.   Another Opera North player David Aspin will play the viola solo in this highlight of Mozart’s music.

Elgar’s Elegy for strings and Purcell’s Chaconne are both well-known, and we also bring you two symphonies; Mozart’s Symphony No 29 and Haydn’s 22nd Symphony known as the Philosopher.  It will be a lively and melodic concert in the beautiful surroundings and excellent acoustic of St Mary’s Church where the Festival is an annual attraction.
