Programme Note
We’re launching the season on June 30 with the internationally acclaimed Fenella Humphreys, violin, and Martin Roscoe, piano. Their programme marks the centenary of Fauré’s death, featuring music by his teacher Saint-Saëns, his pupils Enescu and Ravel, Lily Boulanger and Fauré himself.
Fenella won the 2023 BBC Music Magazine Premiere Recording Award, and her newly released solo recording Prism was selected Instrumental Choice of the month by the same publication in June. Martin Roscoe is one of the UK’s most loved and respected pianists, in great demand as a concerto soloist, chamber musician and recitalist who appears regularly at Wigmore Hall and has long-standing associations with orchestras including the BBC Philharmonic and BBC Scottish Symphony.
