The piece is scored for a female gospel soloist, choir, and seven-piece jazz ensemble. It explores Easter-themed texts and highlights different points in the Passion story. It has new settings of the hymns ‘Greater love has no man’ and ‘Were you there when they crucified my Lord?' Feel the Spirit is a cycle of seven familiar spirituals, expertly arranged by John Rutter. The vivid and expressive arrangements performed as a complete cycle, showcases the rich heritage of the spiritual.
