Programme Note

Cellist and good friend to the series Joseph Spooner makes a welcome return to Weymouth, joined by pianist Duncan Honeybourne in a programme which includes Frank Bridge's Sonata for Cello & Piano. Written between 1913 and 1917, the work is at once richly romantic but also poignant and troubled, reflecting the composer's deep anguish about the First World War and the general state of the world.

Tickets £5 in advance or on the door
