A rare opportunity for you to experience a professional live chamber orchestra right on your doorstep in Herefordshire.
Ross-on-Wye’s St Mary’s Church is hosting a one-off concert with the Gwent Chamber Orchestra who will be performing on Saturday 9 October at 7.30pm with the incredible Sarah Newbold on flute. Sarah has been a professor of flute at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama since 1989 and is a regular coach for the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. She is also a member of the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields and the New London Orchestra, and formerly of both Welsh National Opera and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. As a freelance player, Sarah works with most of the orchestras in Great Britain and regularly with the Philharmonia Orchestra and London Symphony Orchestra.
An excellent programme is promised with some wonderful pieces from William Boyce, Handel, Mozart, Frank Martin and Debussy plus there will be a bar, raffle and silent auction.
