Programme Note
Chelmsford Singers’ Spring Concert will be on Saturday March 26th at St. Michael’s Church, Galleywood, CM2 8PW at 7.30pm. Doors will open at 6.45pm.
This concert joins in the national celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Ralph Vaughan Williams by performing a selection of English folk songs, arranged by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Gustav Holst, John Byrt, Percy Grainger, John Bertalot and several pieces by the contemporary composer Cecilia McDowell.
Tickets are £15 adult, £5 students, with accompanied children under 11 years of age free. They are available from chelmsfordsingers.co.uk or at the door on the night.
Chelmsford Singers, now enjoying their 96th year of existence, are a choral society with a reputation for producing quality music since 1927, currently numbering around 50 members. James Davy is the Organist and Master of Choristers at Chelmsford Cathedral and has been Musical Director of Chelmsford Singers since 2012. They will be joined by tenor Tom Stapleton and will be accompanied by Matthew Kelley.
Refreshments will be available before the concert and at the interval.
