Programme Note
Lisa Friend both as soloist and with her Trio, have toured internationally, recorded prolifically and partnered with numerous other highly respected orchestras and individual performers. Most recently, she has performed with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra with guests Alfie Boe and Russell Watson and the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
Pianist Mark Kincaid has worked extensively as freelance accompanist for the Royal College, Royal Academy and Guildhall School of Music, BBC Symphony Orchestra and as Opera repetiteur. He has accompanied the Basingstoke Choral Society since 1976 and was appointed Assistant Musical Director in 1997. Mark regularly collaborates with solo flautist Lisa Friend. Together, they have broadcast a live duo recital on Classic FM, performed at the ‘White Rose Ball’ Holocaust Fundraiser alongside artist Liza Minnelli and recorded a CD of romantic works on the Signum Records.
Martin Radford cellist and composer is from the Shetland Islands. He graduated from the Royal College of Music in London. He performs as a solo, chamber and session musician and has had several works written for him and has a keen interest in contemporary classical music. He is also Event Coordinator of the London International Piano Competition.
Martin is in great demand as a composer and musical collaborator in diverse musical genres with artists including Skunk Anansie, Guillemots, Patrick Wolf, Fightstar & Luke Solomon. His performances in the UK and overseas have received critical acclaim with featured recordings reaching No.1 in music charts in Europe and America.
