Add to my Calendar 01-12-2021 13:00 01-12-2021 15:00 36 Lunchtime Piano Recital - Rebeca Omordia London based Nigerian-Romanian pianist Rebeca Omordia returns to St Olave's Church for a lunchtime recital of British and French piano works by John Ireland, Robert Matthew-Walker and Maurice Ravel. Rebeca's performances of the Ireland’s Piano Sonata have been described as “completely compelling, authoritative and committed”, and “outstanding in every regard”. This recital also brings the world premiere of Postcards from Provence by esteemed British composer Robert Matthew-Walker, written in 2021 especially for Rebeca.  Rebeca has been a great ambassador of the British repertoire ever since winning the "Delius Prize" in 2009 which led to a duo partnership with world renowned cellist Julian Lloyd Webber. She performed Ireland's Cello Sonata with Lloyd Webber on numerous occasions on tour in the UK, and in concert with cellists Raphael Wallfisch and Jiaxin Lloyd Webber, and she has recorded it for English Music Records with Joseph Spooner. Ireland's piano music has been a constant presence in Rebeca's recital programmes and she has performed piano works by John Ireland on tour in the UK, Romania and Nigeria and on live broadcasts on Radio 3.  This recital is generously supported by the John Ireland Charitable Trust.  St Olave's Church, London DD/MM/YYYY
