Programme Note

Come and listen to music from two great British composers. Our concert title comes from Macmillan’s motet which compares Christ’s bringing of light and eternal life to the glorious rising sun. The Macmillan Mass of 2000 combines atmosphere and mystery in the drama of the liturgy.

Elgar was always a dreamer. “We are the music makers and we are the dreamers of dreams” tells of the role of the creative artist in inspiring the history and future of Mankind.
