Sir John Milford Rutter is an English composer, conductor, and arranger, of choral music who celebrated his eightieth birthday in 2025. Sir John is well known for his arrangements and composition of Christmas carols and his arrangements of traditional melodies. Requiem, his setting of parts of the Latin Mass, with added psalms and biblical verses was completed in and first performed in1985. Buckingham Choral Society is looking forward to performing Requiem and The Sprig of Thyme in its summer concert, continuing its long-established presence in the town.
