Programme Note
Hear the Bridgewater Sinfonia play the greats from Russia! Sergei Prokofiev's suite of music for the 1934 film Lieutenant Kijé; Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's glorious Symphony No. 6 of 1893, the Pathétique; and Sergei Rachmaninoff's dazzling Piano Concerto No. 2, one of his most enduringly popular pieces. Not to be missed!
Russian pianist Victor Maslov has been described as “one of those people who is close to all-round mastery of his repertoire” (New York Concert Review). Victor is a prizewinner in several international competitions, including the International Rachmaninoff Piano Competition in Moscow and the Classic Piano International Competition in Dubai. He graduated from the Royal College of Music, London in 2021 and was awarded the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Rose Bowl for his achievements there.
