Programme Note

A special concert/milonga with the London Tango Quintet to celebrate the release of their first CD. Brought together by violinist, David Juritz, in 2007 the group has waited a for sixteen years before recording. Juritz says, 'We may have set a world-record for the slowest debut CD but, with all the amazing recordings out there, we didn't want to go into the studio until we knew we could produce something distinctive and that would hold its own in a very crowded field. We've chosen repertoire which reflects out wide interest - some wonderful numbers by Astor Piazzolla, some traditional tangos by Salgan, Bardi and others, and a couple of numbers by our pianist, David Gordon.   We hope people feel it was worth a rather long wait.'
