Programme Note
The award-winning London chamber choir, Vasari Singers and conductor Jeremy Backhouse are delighted to be back in business in 2022 with a glorious concert of French choral music
This is music with which Vasari has a special affinity. We first paired Duruflé’s magnificent Requiem with French organist and composer Grunenwald’s De Profundis on a recording we made in 2008 which was very well-received and has proved incredibly popular. Francis Poulenc’s Quatre motets pour un temps de pénitence work beautifully with the two other pieces making for a satisfying and uplifting evening of very attractive music.
